During a training session with a local east coast police department, the Chief requested assistance in researching an out-of-state license plate connected to a shooting that had occurred the previous night. Using ForceMetrics Velocity™, a search of the plate revealed a CAD-related record, and limited details were immediately available within the platform.
To help advance the investigation, the associated CAD ID was provided to the officers. They were then able to retrieve the full CAD notes directly from their agency systems. Those notes linked the vehicle to a known individual who had previously been involved in an incident at his residence several months earlier.
This information proved to be a significant breakthrough in the case. Prior to the search, investigators believed the suspect was not local to the area. By uncovering the connection between the vehicle and a known local subject, the team was able to identify a new investigative target and refine the direction of the case.
Velocity Impact
ForceMetrics served as the critical starting point for uncovering an actionable lead. While the initial search returned only a CAD reference, it enabled investigators to quickly connect disparate records across systems and identify a previously unknown local link to the vehicle involved in the shooting. This discovery shifted investigative assumptions, helped identify a new suspect, and provided officers with a clear direction for follow-up efforts.
