At a Real Time Crime Center, a call come in about a shooting at 9am. Dispatch received only two descriptors for the truck involved, it was a silver work truck. With little information, the RTCC got to work searching cameras across the city. Within about 15 minutes, they found a suspicious car, matching the description. It had pulled over near the scene and sat in a parking lot for 40 seconds before taking off onto a nearby highway, which raised their suspicion.

Searching the vehicles, they found the name of the man who was registered to the truck and looked him up in ForceMetrics' Velocity platform to get an address and any other pertinent information. With the address in-hand, the RTCC deployed multiple units to surround his house along with a drone to survey the scene. Officers moved in on the house and were able to apprehend the suspects believed to have been involved in the shooting and take them into custody.

The Velocity Impact

In under 90 minutes, this Real Time Crime Center was able to locate the suspects involved in the shooting, locate their address, and apprehend them. The RTCC Chief said that without their technology working together, an investigation like this would have taken weeks and even months (if it was even possible to find the vehicle in the first place). It's amazing to see how technology, like ForceMetrics Velocity plays a critical role in their success.
